A plant-based diet is one that centers around plants. That’s the plain, and simple answer. You can eat any variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes (e.g. beans and lentils), nuts, and seeds while maintaining a plant-based diet. If you lead a plant-based lifestyle, you avoid processed foods as much as possible. You’re technically a vegan, but vegans don’t necessarily steer clear of processed foods. Plant-based eaters do.
This is the first in a series of posts that will dive into the concept of living a plant-based lifestyle. I’m keeping this one short and sweet so you can marinate on what it means without having to worry about too many details.
Just remember — if you’re plant-based, you eat plants. And the majority of the times, those shouldn’t require a package, ingredient list or even a nutrition label, for that matter.
