The Heaviest Weights Aren’t Always the Best Weights

Form over weight. You will hear this phrase time and time again once we launch our Boldly Fit workouts. We want everyone we work with or encourage to have that concept locked in. It is so important when it comes to resistance training. The person lifting the heaviest weights in the gym might not be getting the most results and could be risking injury for the sake of impressing others. It’s just not worth it!

What’s the point of working out if you’re not getting the full benefit of the exercises you’re performing? And why jeopardize your back or knees or shoulders for someone else’s entertainment?

People leave gyms all the time because of the competitive atmosphere. Unfortunately, that’s always going to be a part of the equation. The key to your success is to embrace proper techniques, avoid distractions and work with tunnel vision toward your goals. It’s just like anything else you want to achieve. You have to focus on you to ultimately make it happen. Gaining strength in the gym is a process. Of course your weights will increase as you continue on your fitness journey, but there is no reason to rush it. Take your time. Enjoy the experience. Your body will thank you later!
