Have you ever had a craving for something, but just couldn’t will yourself to buy it store-bought? Keep cooking the majority of your foods and eliminating processed products. I promise you will get to this point. Well, I recently got an itch for granola, so I decided to tinker with some ingredients and came up with a super delicious and super simple recipe. My three year old loves the stuff, so it’s a hit for all ages. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup raw almonds – sliced
1/2 cup raw honey
2 tsp melted coconut oil
1 TBS cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350. Mix oats and almonds in a baking dish. Bake 12 minutes. While in oven, combine honey, coconut oil, cinnamon and vanilla extract in small bowl. When oats come out of oven, top with honey mixture and stir until well combined. Place the granola on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Turn oven off and place baking sheet in oven for five minutes. Remove from oven, and allow to cool completely.
